The International Council on Monuments and Sites works for the conservation and protection of cultural heritage places. It is a NGO dedicated to promoting the application of theory, methodology, and scientific techniques to the conservation of the architectural and archaeological heritage.

The International Scientific Committee for Cultural Landscapes was created by ICOMOS in partnership with theInternational Federation of Landscape Architects in 1970 and has ever since successfully contributed to ICOMOS.

The International Federation of Landscape Architects, Cultural Landscapes Committee is the body representing Landscape Architects worldwide. It collaborates with international organizations of parallel interests, such as UNESCO, ICOMOS, IUCN, ICCROM, etc.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature is the world’s oldest and largest global environmental organization.

The International Society of City and Regional Planners is a global association of experienced professional planners. It was founded in 1965 in a bid to bring together recognized and highly-qualified planners in an international network.

The International Rural Network is legally established as a not-for-profit international association.  It seeks to provide opportunities for rural communities worldwide to learn from each other.

The Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Spatial/Regional Planning (CEMAT) brings together representatives of the 47 Council of Europe member states in pursuit of a shared objective: the promotion of the territorial dimension of human rights and democracy for a sustainable spatial development of the European Continent.

The European Heritage Network brings together 44 government departments responsible for cultural heritage under the umbrella of the Council of Europe.

It is an network of experts who deal with the Agricultural Landscapes of Europe, considering however not only the so-called “Cultural Landscape”, which is more often the picturesque but also the productive landscape, for promoting their consideration and use among their people, preserving their cultural heritage. It cooperates with: UNESCO, CoE and ECOVAST.

The European Council for the Village and Small Town, was set up in 1984 to further the well-being of rural communities, and the safeguarding of the rural heritage, throughout Europe.

The Permanent European Conference for the Study of the Rural Landscape. It is an international network of landscape researchers focused on the past, present and future of European landscapes.

It is an interdisciplinary network of national research institutes with expertise in landscape assessment, planning and management at the interface of policy implementation, education and state-of-the-art science in support of sustainable landscapes.

The International Association for Landscape Ecology was founded in 2009 during the European Congress of Salzburg. It has been created to represent consistently the common landscape ecology approach at the European scale.

Ten RTegional authorities, with action capacity in rural development in their corresponding regions, have created a cooperation network for the exchange of knowledge in experiences to contribute to get a territorial cohesion in the Europe of the 27.

The Cooperation Platform for Territorial Cohesion of Europe was designed to support information and communication among all concerned with the Territorial Agenda of the EU and its implementation process.

Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development is responsible for the implementation of agriculture and rural development policy, the latter being managed in conjunction with the other DGs which deal with structural policies. Its mission is to promote the sustainable development of Europe's agriculture and to ensure the well-being of its rural areas. 

The European Forum on Nature Conservation and Pastoralism is the only European organization focusing on the maintenance of low-intensity livestock farming.

European Landowners' Organization. Engaging various stakeholders, ELO develops policy recommendations and programmes of action. ELO organizes interdisciplinary meetings gathering together key actors from the rural sector and policymakers at the local, regional, national and European level.

Represents a rapidly growing citizens’ movement for the safeguarding of Europe’s cultural and natural heritage. Its pan-European network is composed of 250 member organizations, 150 associated organizations and also 1500 individual members who directly support our mission.

The European LEADER Association for Rural Development is an international non-profit making association set up to improve the quality of life in rural areas and to maintain their population through sustainable, integrated local development.

The Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development is primarily responsible for examining and amending the European Commission's legislative proposals by preparing reports on agricultural policy for subsequent adoption by the European Parliament in plenary.

The European Environment Agency is an agency of the European Union. Its task is to provide sound, independent information on the environment.
